So recently I have taken up the hobby of pararcord if that’s how you word it but I wanted to share some of the things I have made / built for the hobby and some of the materials I have used. Its best to go to the internet as far as buying the raw materials. Amazon is one of the most logical choices for price and shipping. I have bought both version of Tying it all Together and they are pretty good the only negative I can say is most of them have no instructions on how to work the buckles in to your bracelets / projects. I’ve had to figure this out on my own. Pinterest & Instructables are good places to go for other paracord ideas and instructions. Below you will see the jig I made for ¼ and 3/8 Bracelets of varying sizes out of hard maple. You will also see the dog leash I made in a dual endless falls pattern. I had to work the handle in with a little ingenuity and I could have probably done a better job but at least I didn’t have to expose any burnt ends. Let me know what you guys think and if you have any questions. I also have a dog collar I made from a switchback pattern I will post pictures up of soon.

Working Projects:

  • Paracord Can Coozie
  • Turks Head Knot on a Cold Steel Machete Handle
  • Paracord Watch Band on a Casio Watch

So this past weekend I got a chance to work on some of the pistol scenario units I am building for my range at home. I had my father pick up 30 2×4’s and we had some spare ¼ plywood around the farm so I threw a wall and a corner unit together and will have pictures soon. I plan on building a unit with a window, one with a door, and a half height unit to practice shooting from cover. The rest I can use for making some silhouette target holders out of.

I also thought of a couple other projects that I am going to add to the list of things I will be working on over the course of next year:

Ammo Can Liner – I have some 50 cal ammo cans that I am going to paint flat black and then line the cans with a felt liner. I have some felt I bought at my local wally world and will cut the pieces out to length and then use some contact adhesive to glue the pieces in. This will keep things from being damaged or scratched when I haul items around in them.

Refinish – I have a Steyr M95/34 that I am going to refinish the stock on

Climber Refinish – I have a Summit climber stand that I want to repaint camo and then I bought some outdoor rated camo fabric that I am going to use along with some hot water heater foam insulation to recover the bars on the top piece of the frame to make the stand like brand new.

Hey Patriots,

I’m currently working on a few projects I would share. Let me know what you think. I dabble in the woodworking and construction realm from time to time. My father is far better at it than I am but I am getting better at it the more I do.

Current Projects:

Hanging Ammo Cartridge Display Cases – I keep seeing these for sale and at local gun shows and thought it would be cool to build some ones out of oak or ash and felt line them myself and keep some of the cartridges I have / use on display

Hanging Knife Display Case – I have a decent collection of knives I would like to keep in a locked display case that can hang on the wall. I’m thinking felt lined for this as well and with some kind of locking glass door for some level of security.

Some Mobile Scenario Pistol Courses – I have plenty of plywood, 2×4’s, and a large field to the side of my parent’s house out in the sticks. I was thinking I could build some mobile platforms whether they be half height or full height to simulate kneeling cover, doorways, corners, windows, etc. This way I could work through different scenarios when practicing conceal and carry and defensive handgun/shotgun techniques. If anyone has any ideas or tips on this project please let me know.

Frames – I want to build some wooden frames for some of the cooler posters I have acquired from different firearm manufacturers over the years.

Tactical Patch Display Case – Same idea as those above this would be felt lined and a shallow display case with a glass door. The patches could adhere to the felt and be left on display when they are not in use on my tactical gear.

Let me know what you think
